The City of Janesville will host a Community Engagement Forum on the Rockport Pool Improvement Project on Thursday, June 11, at 5 p.m. in the Peace Park Pavilion (2801 Rockport Road), which is located adjacent to Rockport Pool. The event will provide information and gather community input on the upcoming initiative.
Originally constructed in 1981, the aquatic complex, which includes a lap pool, dive well, wading pool, and bathhouse, has reached a stage where updates are needed to ensure it can continue meeting community needs.
Recreation Director Shelley Slapak shares, “We look forward to hearing from the community to help guide the design ideas and future enhancements to Rockport Pool, which will improve the experience for current and future patrons and help Rockport realize its full potential as a regional aquatic destination.”
During the June 11 forum, attendees will receive an overview of facility conditions, provide feedback on priorities for the renovation, and join guided tours of the pool area led by City staff. The City will also release a community survey following the forum to gather additional feedback as design work begins this summer.
