Mt. Zion Avenue, between Milton Avenue and Pontiac Drive, is scheduled to be closed to through traffic on Monday, March 23, through Friday, August 21. The project will be staged to maintain traffic flow for the majority of the project duration, with northbound and southbound traffic allowed on N. Randall Avenue and N. Harmony Drive.
Mt. Zion Avenue will remain open between N. Harmony Drive and Jefferson School Drive, including both intersections, ensuring that school traffic circulation continues without disruption.
Please note, while N. Randall Avenue and N. Harmony Drive will be staged to maintain traffic flow, there will be times when these intersections will be closed to traffic for shorter durations in order to complete the necessary work at these locations. Additional press releases will be issued to inform the public of these closures and their duration.
Mt. Zion Avenue will be reconstructed from Milton Avenue to N. Pontiac Drive. The project includes full street reconstruction (base aggregate, curb & gutter, and asphalt pavement), intermittent sidewalk, water main replacement, intermittent storm sewer replacement, and utility structure replacement. The project also includes the full replacement of traffic signals at the intersections of Mt. Zion Avenue and N. Randall Avenue and Mt. Zion Avenue and Jefferson School Drive. Minor traffic signal improvements will be completed at the intersection of Mt. Zion Avenue and N. Pontiac Drive.
