City of Janesville Reschedules Rockport Pool Improvement Project Community Engagement Forum

Post Date:06/11/2026 11:17 am

Due to forecasted severe weather, the City of Janesville has rescheduled the Community Engagement Forum for the Rockport Pool Improvement Project. The event will now take place on Thursday, June 25, at 5 p.m. in the Peace Park Pavilion (2801 Rockport Road), located adjacent to Rockport Pool.

The decision to postpone the event was made out of an abundance of caution and to ensure community members can safely and fully participate in the forum.

The rescheduled event will provide an overview of current facility conditions and gather public input to help guide design ideas and future enhancements. Originally constructed in 1981, Rockport Pool, which includes a lap pool, dive well, wading pool, and bathhouse, has reached a point where updates are needed to continue meeting community needs.

“We look forward to hearing from the community to help guide the design ideas and future enhancements to Rockport Pool, which will improve the experience for current and future patrons and help Rockport realize its full potential as a regional aquatic destination,” said Recreation Director Shelley Slapak.

During the June 25 forum, attendees will learn about renovation priorities, share input, and participate in guided tours of the pool area led by City staff. The City will also soon be releasing a community survey to gather additional feedback as design work begins this summer.
