The City of Janesville is encouraging residents to exercise their right to vote in the 2026 Fall Partisan Primary Election on Tuesday, August 11.

The Clerk-Treasurer's Office reminds voters to visit myvote.wi.gov to verify their voter registration, update their registration, request an absentee ballot, view a sample ballot, or confirm their polling location.

The deadline to submit voter registration online or by mail is Wednesday, July 22. Following that date, residents should visit the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in City Hall (18 N. Jackson St.) or their polling place on Election Day to register.  

In-person absentee voting will be available at City Hall (18 N. Jackson St.) beginning Tuesday, July 28, and continuing weekdays through Friday, August 7. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. On Friday, July 31, voting will close at noon. On Friday, August 7, voting will close at 5 p.m.

On Election Day, August 11, six polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can review the City's voting wards and polling locations for both primary and general elections on the City’s website.

Please note that voters who normally vote at First Lutheran Church (612 N. Randall Ave.) will instead vote at the Craig Center on the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds (1301 Craig Ave.) through 2027 due to flood damage.

Because this is a partisan primary election, voters may cast a ballot in one political party only. The ballot includes candidates from the Republican, Democratic, Constitution, Libertarian, and Wisconsin Green parties. Voting in more than one party will void all selections on the ballot.

Voters are reminded that they are required to show a photo ID to cast an absentee ballot or vote on Election Day.
