Beginning Wednesday, September 2, a portion of Anthony Avenue, from S. Jackson Street to Adel Street, will be closed to through traffic as construction crews begin a major roadway improvement project.

The closure is expected to remain in place until early October while a contractor working on behalf of the City of Janesville converts the existing gravel roadway into a modern urban street. Planned upgrades include installation of storm sewer infrastructure, curb and gutter, new asphalt pavement, and enhanced street lighting.

Local access for residents and property owners within the project area will generally be maintained throughout the construction period.
