What is MyJTS?
MyJTS is our electronic, contactless fare box system! This system offers the option for riders to board and pay for their ride using their MyJTS smart card or their cell phone.
What options are offered with MyJTS?
Riders may download the app named MyJTS or obtain a plastic smart card with an embedded chip. Either option requires the rider to register for an account.
Can I have the app and a smart card?
No. A rider must choose to use the app or the smart card; one rider cannot use both.
What can a rider purchase with MyJTS?
- Stored Value - Load funds to your account to use at your leisure
- 30-day pass
- Stored Rides - 10-ride pack
- Day pass
What is Fare Capping?
Fare capping means that once a rider pays enough fares to cover a 30-day pass, they do not need to pay any additional fares for the remainder of the 30-day window. A 30-day pass at JT is $52, which is the maximum amount a rider will spend on fares within any 30-day window.
How does Fare Capping work?
Each time a rider uses the MyJTS smartphone app or MyJTS smart card, MyJTS looks back at previous rides within the last 30-days and determines if the fare cap has been reached. Once the cap has been reached, the rider will not be charged for that day’s rides.
Who is eligible for fare capping?
All riders are eligible to take advantage of fare capping!
How do I participate in fare capping?
To participate in the fare capping program, riders must use the MyJTS app or the MyJTS smart card to pay for their rides. Both options require riders to set up an online account.
Does fare capping work when I use cash, paper passes or metal tokens?
No, the farebox system can only complete the lookback when a rider uses the cell phone app or smart card.
What app should I download?
Visit Google Play on your Android smartphone or the App store on your Apple smartphone and download “MyJTS”. Click the links below on your smartphone to download the MyJTS app now!
How do I register for an account using a smart card?
Riders may visit the MyJTS eFare website to register for a MyJTS account and request a card. The card may be picked up for free at the JTS office on Black Bridge or may be shipped to you for $1.
Is an email required to use MyJTS?
An email is required to use the MyJTS app. Riders who do not have an email may only obtain a MyJTS card from the JTS Office on Black Bridge Road.
Why was MyJTS implemented?
- Eliminates driver/rider physical interaction for improved disease control
