Enchanted Forest & Hollywood Hayride

As the leaves hit the ground and nights become crisp, bring the family to Palmer Park. Enjoy the Halloween season by taking a stroll through the Enchanted Forest, a wagon ride on the Hollywood Hayride, play carnival games at the Goblin Games, or take a free barrel ride provided by the Optimist Club. DATES AND TIMES

  • Wednesday and Thursday, October 8 and 9 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

LOCATION

Enchanted Forest

A narrated candle-lit walk-through Palmer's hillside to visit various acted scenes from your family's favorite children's books, fairytales, and nursery rhymes. Stop to take a picture with our local actors or in front of your favorite scene set.

Looking for volunteer actors to dress in provided costumes and act out a short scene! 

Fee: $3.00/Person



Hollywood Hayride

The wagon will take you on a windy path stopping at several star-studded scenes from family-friendly movies and TV shows. At each stop our actors will perform a short skit and riders will receive a small trinket. Take pictures or sing and dance along to get in the spirit.

    Looking for volunteer actors to dress in provided costumes, act out a short scene, and pass out small trinkets to children on the wagon!
     

    Fee:  $3.00/Person 

     

    Goblin Games

    Up to 10 carnival style games set up directly outside the Palmer Park West Pavilion geared for kids ages 10 and under. Some games and prizes are Halloween themed.

    Looking for groups/individuals to volunteer to work this game area!
    Fee:  4 tickets/$1*
    *Each game is only 1 ticket.

        Note: Please select the Recreation Division box on the Volunteer Interest Form and type Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride in the textbox. This event requires over 75 volunteers and our Parks and Recreation staff team. 

        • Learn more about becoming an event sponsor for the Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride on the City's website. For proper event recognition, registration submission is due by Friday, September 19, 2025. For questions, please email, slapaks@ci.janesville.wi.us, or call (608) 755-3031.

        Note: The support from local businesses/organizations contributes directly towards the betterment of this event. Sponsorship dollars go towards costumes, props, game prizes, scene handouts, volunteer actor incentives, and set construction. By sponsoring the event, businesses/organizations receive advertising opportunities that reach over 10,000 followers on the Janesville Parks and Recreation Facebook page and another 6,900 event participants. If your business/organization wants to take this advertising opportunity one step further, join us! We would love to have your business/organization adopt a scene! We would love to have your help acting out your favorite scene or passing out candy/trinkets. 

        If direct financial sponsorship is not an option for your business/organization, the Recreation Division appreciates the help of any non-cash donations such as gift cards or coupons for actor incentives or in-kind contributions of candy/trinkets.
