Established in 2021 through the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin (CFSW), the fund's purpose is to receive and accept donations from community members interested in supporting City parks, playgrounds, and recreation facilities. Gifts help beautify, maintain, upgrade, and program the public spaces that make Janesville, Wisconsin's Park Place. Through the support of donors inspired to leave a lasting legacy, the fund serves as an endowment for ongoing community parks and recreation projects.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has made it even more clear the importance of health, wellness, physical activity, parks and places for recreation and play,” said City of Janesville Recreation Direction Shelley Slapak. “Your generous gift will assist the City in efforts to improve facilities, parks, and programs that bring people together and create community.”   

Individuals interested in donating to the new fund may visit csfw.org, click the donate button, and search Janesville Parks and Recreation Legacy Fund or utilize the fund's direct link. Donors may give funds for general projects or create independent funds for specific projects or programs.
