Asphalt shingles are no longer accepted for disposal at the City of Janesville Sanitary landfill. In 2012 the Janesville City Council approved a measure to ban disposal of asphalt shingles at the City’s landfill. The ban will save landfill space, extending the life of the site.
The ban applies to commercial haulers, contractors and individuals. If asphalt shingles are delivered to the landfill waste loads may be rejected, waste loads may be subject to handling fees, and/or your company may experience driver delays due to reloading of the banned shingles.
