| Monday | 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. |
| Tuesday - Friday | 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. |
| Saturday | 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. |
Closed on Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
NO SCALED LOADS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF THE POSTED CLOSING TIME
Disposal Rules

All vehicles hauling refuse to the sanitary landfill must be fully enclosed or have wastes covered with a tarpaulin.

The City reserves the right to refuse any load of waste.

The following items are banned from disposal in the sanitary landfill (click links for more information):

Liquid Wastes

Yard Waste such as grass, leaves, yard and garden debris. (City of Janesville residents may take these to the Compost Site located just west of the sanitary landfill)

Concrete, including reinforced. (the Clean Fill Facility accepts this material)

Asphalt (the Clean Fill Facility accepts this material)

The following may be taken to special collection areas at the sanitary landfill for recycling - fees may apply:
- Appliances
- Motor Oil
- Metal Items

Recyclables (including cardboard)

Disposal of special wastes such as asbestos, barrels, contaminated soil, and industrial process waste must have approval prior to deposit at the sanitary landfill. Call the City's Solid Waste Manager at the City Services Center at (608) 755-3110 for more information.
Disposal Fees
Disposal fees charged will be the greater of $43.00 per ton or the following minimum fee shown below. (Effective January 1, 2025)

$43 / ton ($20.00 Minimum) |
Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, and credit or debit cards. Card users are required to pay an additional convenience fee.
