Overview
The City of Janesville sweeps residential areas five times per year and the downtown and main arterial streets eight times per year.
Street sweeping in residential areas is coordinated as to not conflict with curbside trash/recycling collection days and is completed in four to six weeks.
Street sweeping dates are subject to change depending on the volume of waste collected, weather conditions, and shifting departmental work priorities. The City of Janesville encourages off-street parking of vehicles during street sweeping events. For more information, please contact the City Services Center at (608) 755-3110.
Please note: Street sweepers are not capable of cleaning up brush, tree debris, or large quantities of leaves, grass, or yard waste. The depositing of these materials into the street or the curb line is prohibited, with the exception of leaves between October 1 and the day in which loose leaf collection occurs in November.
